Inksight Privacy Policy

This application - Inksight (hereinafter referred to as “we,” “us,” or “the App”) fully understands the importance of your privacy. This Privacy Policy is intended to explain how we process your personal information and data when you use our services. We adopt a “minimal data collection” and “local storage” architecture to maximize the protection of your data security.

Core Commitment: We do not store any of your original images or recognized text content on our servers. All recognition results are stored only on your personal device.

I. Data We Collect

To provide the core image recognition functionality, we need to process the following data:

  • Images and Text Content: Only the content that you voluntarily upload, capture, or paste for recognition purposes.

  • Required Permissions: To access the content for recognition, we request the following permissions:

    • Camera Permission (for taking photos)
    • Storage/Photos Permission (for selecting images from your gallery and saving results)

    These permissions are used only when the related feature is actively triggered.

  • When you sign in with your Apple account, Apple may provide us with your username and email address. This information is used solely for account identification purposes, including recording and synchronizing your remaining usage credits on the backend, and will not be used for any other unauthorized purposes.

We explicitly state that: this App does not collect your name, phone number, device identifiers (such as IMEI or IDFA), geographic location, or any other personally identifiable sensitive information.

II. Data Transmission and Third-Party Processing

  1. Third-Party Large Language Model (LLM) Services: This App uses third-party large language model (LLM) APIs to provide intelligent extraction and optimization services. When you initiate a recognition request, your text and/or image content is securely encrypted and transmitted to the service provider’s servers.
  2. Privacy Isolation Mechanism: When communicating with third-party model providers, we implement identity anonymization technologies. The transmitted data packets do not contain any of your device information or personal account information, and third-party providers cannot trace the data back to any specific individual user.
  3. Data Training Prohibition: We access these services through commercial APIs. According to the service agreements, the content you submit will not be used to train the underlying models of third-party providers.

III. Data Storage and Deletion

  • Local Storage: All recognized and generated text results are stored only in the local database on your phone or device.
  • Zero Cloud Retention: We do not provide cloud synchronization services. Therefore, our servers do not store any of your recognition history. If you uninstall the App or clear its local data, all historical records will be permanently deleted and cannot be recovered.
  • Third-Party Retention: After processing requests, third-party providers may temporarily retain cached data in accordance with their own privacy policies (typically for security auditing purposes only and automatically deleted after a short period of time).

IV. Information Security

We use HTTPS encryption protocols to ensure end-to-end encryption during data transmission. We will continuously adopt industry-leading security measures to prevent your data from being illegally intercepted during transmission.

V. Your Rights

Because all data is stored locally, you maintain full control over your data:

  • You may delete individual or all recognition history records within the App at any time.
  • You may revoke camera or storage/photo permissions at any time through your device’s system settings.
